Two Much Hyped Blog Tools Debut

DealDotCom and Blogrush have debuted to much hype and buzz. I’m willing to give both a try.

Blogrush

I installed the Blogrush widget in my sidebar. It gives a snapshot of recent articles written by different blogs in your selected category. I like the concept as I have found some interesting articles from other blogs already. I installed the sphere related icon at the bottom of every post. The formula for inclusion on other blogs is related to traffic on your blog and affiliate referrals. Click on the icon in the sidebar for more details.

DealDotCom

DealDotCom is an Internet deal site with a little spunk. Their goal is to offer a great deal once a day at an unspecified time for a limited time. The early birds will get the worm. They claim to have signed up some great deals that they will offer at great prices. The buzz is about the referral program. Affiliates can make 35% of the DealDotCom profit for referred clients with a 15% cut for clients they refer. Click on the banner below for more details.

Early Impressions

The big boys including Problogger, John Chow, and Shoemoney are all early participants and heavily campaigning to signup bloggers. All are looking to use their strong subscriber base to reap the pyramiding of affiliate sales. Both programs are both skewed to help established big blogs as traffic is a heavy factor in both programs. I think they will all see a big uptick in revenue if both programs are half as good as the hype. Since I can’t compete with the big boys, it’s time to find a niche for both programs.

My Blogrush Plan

I have been experimenting with Google adsense and with hot trendy topics like Britney Spears VMA and the Miss South Carolina video. Using the Adsense content option and bidding .01 for ads, I have been attracting visitors at a cheap price. This should bump up my overall traffic and get more impressions on Blogrush. I will post the results of this campaign.

My DealDotCom Plan

I have installed banner ads on the hot topic posts. The traffic from there will not be familiar with the program . I hope to scoop some for affiliate sales since it will be their first impression of the program. I will monitor the deals and look for possible arbitrage opportunities since it is a limited market due to the structure of the program.

**** UPDATE  ****

DealDotCom has it’s first offer running. It is EasyMemberPro unlimited site license membership site management software for $148.50. That is a great deal. The normal price is $297.5. If they are going to be 50% off on everything then it will be a great site. Sign up below now.

  1. dealdotcom is a rip off of woot. Complete rip off. They changed a few fonts, that’s it. They didn’t even try to hid their wootness. I’m duly unimpressed and will most likely not shop there.
