Five Things To Do When Bored

Five Things To Do When Bored

  1. Exercise As you hear over and over again from every health expert exercise is the key to a healthy lifestyle and is incredibly beneficial to take the time to exercise regularly. As much as people might say that they enjoy being lazy and avoiding exercise in truth they have a desire to be healthier. There have been studies done where people who exercise regularly have much higher serotonin levels than people who don’t. Exercise is also energizing. People will often notice their energy levels go up once they start working out. So when your bored go for a run or walk, ride your bike, lift some weights, play a sport, or do anything that you might break a sweat. Exercise according to whatever level physically you are at, but any exercise is good for you as long as you are being safe.
  2. Do Something Creative? If the feeling of boredom is baring down you usually are feeling a little unsatisfied with yourself. Trying something creative is a non-physical way of being productive and can be incredibly satisfying. Everyone has the ability to do something creative. One look into the arts: Draw or paint a picture, play an instrument, or write a poem. If you don’t feel like creating yourself go to an art exhibit, listen to music, or read a book. Think about what you love and approach in some creative manner.
  3. Learn Our brains do not turn to mush once we stop attending school and curiosity is something that does not fade. You can always learn. Try to learn about new things and broaden your knowledge on subjects you don’t understand. The more well rounded you are the better. The possibilities are infinite.
  4. Help Someone If there is nothing for you to do for yourself, do something for someone else. This is probably the most satisfying act anyone can pursue as helping a friend or stranger makes people feel they are good which to some point we all desire.
  5. . Sleep Most people do not sleep enough. Rest is the best way to stay healthy and allow one’s body to recharge. A healthy night’s sleep can go a long way.

Five Productive Things to Do When Bored

Five Productive Things to Do When Bored

When you are looking for ideas, try these things to do when bored.

  1. Clean out your old books and media. Sort your bookshelf for books that you don’t need. Sort the old CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes. Collect the unwanted ones and sell them on Ebay. You will get a few bucks for each. Take the money and put it in a savings account.
  2. Make a to do list. Go through your house and find everything that needs fixing or updating. Light bulb, filters, painting, cleaning are good places to start. Now get to work.
  3. Audit a course online. MIT has new program called opencourseware. Other universities have also joined the effort. They post course material for anyone to download. Download a topic like philosophy to listen to on the train.
  4. Go through your bills. Look for anyplace to cut $100/month. Start with your cell and phone bills. Look at your insurance. Raise your deductible. Cut out any extra cable or direct tv plans.
  5. Clean out your garage. Look for things that are not needed. Organize the rest to make easy access. Make a note of anything that you might need that is off season like salt. Have a garage sale with the leftover stuff.

Five Free Things To Do When Bored

It’s time to find things to do when you are bored. Sometimes you have plenty of time and can’t think of anything to entertain yourself. I created a list of ten free things to do that are free.

  1. Clean your house and garage. Sort everything. Find items that you can give to a worthy cause. Items like clothes, old shoes, old toys are perfect for donation. Find a local center to donate. It’s not hard to find a worthy cause. The rest have a garage or yard sale. Use the money as a savings bonus
  1. Have some fun with your kids while washing your car. Make it a family project. But turn it into a water fight with squirt guns. Nothing beats making your kids laugh.
  1. Go to the community pool. Most are free for residences. Pack a lunch and get some rays.
  1. Go to the library. Have everyone find a good book. Bring them home and have everyone lounge around and read. At dinner it is time to discuss your book with everyone.
  1. Take a bike ride to the park. Bring a snack and don’t just sit there. Play ball or tag. Make it a real exercise.

Embed Google Maps

If you ever wanted to embed a Google map into a post, it’s easy. Go to google maps and search for your category. The example below is Vail hotels. Copy the embed code in HTML and the map appears. It’s interactive just like Google Maps. It gives red balloons for hotel locations. The other balloons are points of interest. Click on them and you get more in depth information.Try it. I’m adding these to some of my travel sites. Google may allow adsense into maps soon.

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals. • http://Atheist-Experience.com • http://Atheist-Community.org • http://AtheistExperience.blogspot.com • http://NonProphetsRadio.com • http://Atheist-Community.org/join/ • http://Atheist-Community.org/donate/ • Wiki: http://IronChariots.org • Cartoons: http://Atheist-Community.org/atheisteve/ • Email: tv@atheist-community.org
SARAH PALIN BOOK SIGNING - Interviews with Supporters
8:22
Views: 1,555,729
PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS VIDEO. On November 20, 2009, Sarah Palin visited Columbus, OH as part of her book signing tour for "Going Rogue." When her supporters were asked broad questions about why they thought she should be president, the responses were vague: She's "real." She'll "stick up for America." THERE ARE UNINFORMED OBAMA SUPPORTERS, TOO It has been said in comments that we would find similarly talking point-driven, substance-less supporters at an Obama rally, and we agree. But no politician has emerged on the national stage as undefined and unqualified as Sarah Palin, and her public persona--which is anti-intellectual by definition--discourages substance. Instead, we get winking. One could hardly imagine her giving a complex speech about race in America, or speaking eloquently about our country's relations with Islam. Not just because she couldn't write such a speech (Obama has speech-writers, of course) but because she wouldn't--such necessarily academic discussion is antithetical to the persona she's created for herself and that her supporters have come to love. CHERRY-PICKING As for accusations of cherry picking, which are commonly thrown at interview-based videos, it simply isn't what we did. We interviewed only a few more people than ended up in the video, not hundreds, and what was cut was done for time purposes. The people were selected at random--some offered to be interviewed--and we were only there for about 90 mins (it gets dark early and fast in Ohio right now). What didn't make it into the video was just more footage of people talking generically or about taxes/spending, drilling, and abortion, and we constructed blocks in the piece to represent those issues. Of course the piece was edited to be entertaining (this is YouTube, after all, where the currency is cat videos) but we don't believe we misrepresented the attitudes of the people at that signing in any way. This NEW LEFT MEDIA film was produced and edited by Chase Whiteside (interviews) and Erick Stoll (camera). DONATE: Donations to New Left Media will go toward the production costs of future videos. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in keeping us online. http://bit.ly/nLOdU (will take you to PayPal) FACEBOOK: http://bit.ly/AzW41 TWITTER: http://twitter.com/NewLeftMedia

The Creation Adventure Team

The Creation Adventure Team is a 2-DVD set intended for children 7-12, to indoctrinate them to the Christian fundamentalist (Bible-literalism) idea that the earth was created in 6 actual days, that humans and dinosaurs were created on day 6. This clip captures most of their teachings, asserting non-science by insisting that a T-Rex was designed by God to be a vegetarian. This is powerfull stuff, because the people that put this out also assert that "intelligent design" be taught in science classes, instead of philosophy class where it belongs. Listen up: THESE ARE THE 2+2=5 PEOPLE! Go to answersingenesis.org to learn more about the folks that are the major voting bloc keeping the zionist/Neo-con- Republicans in power. Don't listen to what they tell the press, listen to what they teach their own children, because that's what they really mean.
